What are my pros & cons?
      Pros:
  • You keep your baby.
  • You will get to see your baby grow up every day, every week, every month, & every year.
      Cons:
  • As a single parent, you're more likely to struggle financially.
  • You will have the full responsibility with parenting and finances, whether single or married.
  • Keeping the child is no guarantee that the father of the baby will stay involved with you or the child.
  • Your education and/or career may be delayed.
With that said, choosing to parent should not be a death sentence to you and your dreams for your future.  Single parenting can be a successful choice if there is a supportive environment and resourceful, determined participants.  Yes, choosing to continue your pregnancy and parent the child will be challenging.  But you can find the support you need with caring people, parenting classes, and other resources available just a phone call away.  You can find the help you need to make this choice.
